Assembly constructs more satellite markets
The Kwahu West Municipal Assembly is gradually inching closer to its target of creating enabling environment for vibrant socio-economic activities in the municipality.
The Assembly has achieved significant progress in establishing satellite markets in a number of communities across the municipality while work on others have been earmarked to commence soon.
Speaking to Ghanadistricts.com, the Municipal Chief Executive Alex Somuah Obeng indicated that suitable places for people to buy and sell forms an important feature in business transactions, and the Ghanaian setting requires both stores and stalls to cater for all sphere of businesses.
It is in view of this that the Assembly through the common fund and the district development fund constructed satellite markets at Asuboni Rail, Gyemasi No1, Nkawkaw Esuogya, Nkawkaw Annex. All these have been completed with sheds fully in place are being used, he stated.
He said three more communities including Kwahu Jejeti, Ekowso and Nkawkaw Nsuta are also targeted to receive similar projects in due course.
He said government would not renege on its efforts to provide the necessary facilities that would go along way to add value to the living standards of the citizenry adding that government’s slogan of a better Ghana is not mare rhetoric but a statement government is working to achieve.
